USGA RULES The UJGA conducts its championships under the 2010 - 2011 USGA Rules of Golf. All players are expected to comply with the rules in all matters; this includes the use of conforming golf equipment. DISQUALIFICATION POLICY FOR SWIRE COCA-COLA JUNIOR SERIES
The SWIRE Coca-Cola Series is a developmental series of tournaments for players. Rule 33-7 allows a penalty of disqualification in exceptional individual cases be waived, modified or imposed if the Committee considers such action warranted; therefore, penalties of disqualification, as identified under the USGA Rules of Golf will be waived and replaced with the following: 12 & Under Flights Only
In the event a player fails to correct a serious breach of the rules, the player will receive the maximum allowable score on the hole versus disqualification (12-strokes). This does not apply to the Code of Conduct or Dress Code policy, violation is disqualification. MAXIMUM STROKE RULE USGA RULE 33-1: Conditions; Waiving Rule / USGA RULE 33-7: Disqualification Penalty The UJGA adopts the 12-stroke maximum rule for competitors participating in the SWIRE Coca-Cola Junior Series, this includes the Boys 13-14 First flight, Boys 15-18 Second flight, the Girls 13-18 Flight, the Boys 11-12, Boys 9-10, Boys 7- 8 Flights and the Girls 11-12 and Girls 10 & Under flights. This applies in all UJGA-sanctioned events except when a player is participating in a National Qualifying or Utah State Jr. Amateur Championship tournament. The rule requires that if after 12-strokes a player has not holed out, the ball will be considered holed and a score of 12 should be recorded on the official score card. |
