SANCTIONED TOURNAMENTS

In order for a tournament to be a UJGA-sanctioned tournament, it must be either 1) Run by the UJGA Staff, or 2) Run by an approved sponsor of the UGJA. Points will not be awarded at non-sanctioned tournaments (Westfield PGA Jr. Qualifying / U.S. Kids Jr.) at the local level; qualifying players will receive 50-Qualifying Points and will be able to participate in Bonus Points based on their finish at the national event using Schedule A. (Performance Points are not available as the national tournament does not have a cut).

QUALIFYING POINTS

UJGA members who qualify for National and State tournaments through UJGA-sanctioned tournaments will receive 50-Qualifying Points if the qualifier participates in the National or State tournament that they qualified for. This includes Junior World Championships, Optimist International Jr. Golf Championships, U.S. Junior Amateur / U.S. Girls Junior Championships,  Trusted Choice BIG I Championship, U.S. Kids Jr. Championship, Utah State Amateur and Utah Open. Points are also awarded to all Utah representatives on the Jr. Americas Cup, Hogan Cup and Mary Cave Cup and SWIRE Cup teams.

Players who obtain exempt status in National and State tournaments based on the previous years play AND who originally qualified for the National or State tournament through a UJGA-sanctioned tournament will receive 50-Qualifying Points.

In addition, UJGA members who participate in the Utah Qualifying Tournament for the U.S. Jr. Amateur / U.S. Girls Junior will receive 50-Qualifying Points (Boys must have a 6.4 hdcp / Girls must have a 18.4 hdcp).

BONUS POINTS

A player may earn BONUS POINTS based on their finish at National and State tournaments if; 1) they qualified for the National and State tournament through a UJGA sanctioned tournament; and 2) they must be a current member of the UJGA in good standing. The Player Performance Point schedule that is used is SCHEDULE A.

PERFORMANCE POINTS

If a player makes the cut in their age division at Junior World Championships, Optimist International Jr Golf Championships or Trusted Choice BIG I Championship or if they qualify for match play at the U.S. Junior Amateur or U.S. Girls Junior they will receive 100 Performance Points.  Points are awarded in the age division that they participated in at the National or State tournament.

Example: if a player, who is 13 years of age participates in the UJGA Johnny Miller division but qualified and made the cut at Junior World in the 13-14 age division, the points awarded will be Player Performance Points in the UJGA 13-14 division, not the Johnny Miller Divisions (15-18 age division). In this example, this would be the Bruce Summerhays Division.

Player Performance Point standings are used to determine all Utah Teams, Golfer of the Year,
“All – Jr. Team” selection and invitations to the season ending SWIRE Cup, ZIONS Challenge Cup, Bill Johnson Memorial - Tournament of Champions, and the SWIRE Tournament of Champions.
