UJGA Preview at Valderra -- The Ledges Golf Club Sponsored by Fairways Magazine QUALIFYING The UJGA Preview at Valderra @ The Ledges is sponsored by Fairways Magazine. Players qualify to participate based on their performance in UJGA-sanctioned tournaments from the previous year and are determined by a player's ranking in the UJGA Player Performance Ranking Index (ie: 2011 invitees will be based on 2010 performance). UJGA Player Performance Points are awarded at UJGA-sanctioned tournaments only. SCORINGThe Utah Junior Golf Association will crown champions in the Johnny Miller Masters, Johnny Miller Champions, Bruce Summerhays, Mike Reid, Belle Fellows and Judie Ahrend divisions based on gross score. The tournament yardages will be set to accommodate the abilities of the players. NUMBER OF QUALIFIERSThe following number of qualifiers will receive invitations to the event.
BILL JOHNSON MEMORIAL Sponsored by Menlove Dodge Scion
QUALIFYING The Bill Johnson Memorial is sponsored by Menlove Dodge Scion and is named after its founder, Bill Johnson. Players can qualify to participate in the Bill Johnson Memorial by winning a championship in one of the UJGA’s sanctioned tournaments in the ZIONS BANK Jr. Tour or APX Jr. Series, by participating on a Utah Team or finalist in the Utah State Jr. Amateur Match Play Championship or by PPR points as indicated. SCORING The Utah Junior Golf Association will crown champions in each of the age divisions of the ZIONS BANK Jr. Tour; this includes the Johnny Miller Masters Division, Johnny Miller Champions Division, Bruce Summerhays Division, Mike Reid Division, Belle Fellows Division and Judie Ahrend Division, also the VIVINT Jr. Series Boys 15-18 First Flight, Boys 13-14 First Flight and the Girls 15-18 Flight. The tournament yardage will be set up to accommodate the abilities of the players with the approx. yardage as follows:
AWARDS The Utah Junior Golf Association will award a Champions Trophy in each of the qualifying divisions. The award will be presented at the associations Annual Awards Banquet
KARL TUCKER MEMORIAL Sponsored by the Karl Tucker Foundation
QUALIFYING The Karl Tucker Memorial is sponsored by the Karl Tucker Foundation. Players can qualify to participate by winning a championship in one of the Utah Junior Golf Association’s SWIRE COCA COLA Jr. Tour-sanctioned tournaments or by finishing on the UJGA Player Performance Ranking Index as indicated. SCORING The Utah Junior Golf Association will crown champions in each of the age divisions of the SWIRE COCA COLA Jr. Tour; this includes the Boys 11-12, Boys 9-10, Boys 7-8, Girls 11-12 and Girls 10 & Under divisions. The Boys 11-12 / 9-10 will play 18-holes, the Boys 7-8 and the Girls 11-12 and 10 & Under will play 9-hole tournaments. The tournament yardage will be set up to accommodate the abilities of the players; the tournament format is stroke play. NUMBER OF QUALIFIERS / AWARDSAll Tournament champions will qualify for the event plus, based on the Players Performance Rankings, the following number of qualifiers will receive invitations. THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP Sponsored by ZIONS Bank
QUALIFYING Players will qualify to participate in the PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHP based on their performance in designated tournaments of the Utah Junior Golf Association’s ZIONS BANK Jr. Tour. This includes the Johnny Miller Masters Division, Johnny Miller Champions Division, Bruce Summerhays Division, Mike Reid Division, Belle Fellows Division and Judie Ahrend Division. SCORING
NUMBER OF QUALIFIERS / AWARDS The following number of qualifiers will receive invitations to the event. The Utah Junior Golf Association will recognize the Champions of each division at the associations Annual Awards Banquet.

SWIRE CUP Sponsored by SWIRE Coca-Cola, USA
QUALIFYING Players will qualify to participate in the SWIRE CUP based on their performance in designated tournaments of the Utah Junior Golf Association’s ZIONS BANK Jr. Tour, this includes the Boys 15-18 Team: Johnny Miller Masters and Johnny Miller Champions Divisions, Boys 13-14 Team: Bruce Summerhays Division, Boys 11-12 Team: Mike Reid Division, Girls 13-18 Team: Belle Fellows and Judie Ahrend Divisions. Team selection is based on performance in all regular season UJGA-sanctioned tournaments during the year (does not include Invitational tournaments) and will be as follows:
SCORING: INDIVIDUAL / TEAM The SWIRE Cup format is a team event with 8 players from each division being selected to represent their respective division. The tournament will be handicapped by setting the tees at an adjusted length to accommodate the abilities of the players. Yardage is as follows:
The event format is a four-division team competition with each division competing against one another. Each member of the TEAM (total of 8 players) will score his/her own golf ball for the designated 18 holes. The TEAM total-score is determined by adding the four lowest TEAM scores on each hole to arrive at a hole score for each of the 18 holes. Low TEAM total wins the SWIRE Cup.
AWARDSThe Utah Junior Golf Association will recognize the award winners at the association's Annual Awards Banquet. Awards will be presented to each member of the winning team. An Individual Champion Award will be awarded to the low individual score for the competition.
ZIONS BANK CHALLENGE CUP MATCHES Sponsored by ZIONS Bank
QUALIFYING Players in the Johnny Miller Masters Division and Johnny Miller Champions Division will qualify to participate in the ZIONS BANK Challenge Cup Matches based on their performance in designated tournaments of the Utah Junior Golf Association’s ZIONS BANK Jr. Tour. Players will be selected and assigned to teams that will represent Utah’s North and South geographical areas. Selection will be based on performance in all regular season UJGA-sanctioned tournaments during the year (does not include Invitational tournaments) with 8 players from each area plus 2-captain's picks being selected (each team) from the Johnny Miller Masters Division and 2 players from each area plus 2-captain's pick (each team) from the Johnny Miller Champions Division for a total of 14 players on each team. The event is played annually over UEA weekend. The UJGA Executive Committee will establish the dividing line to determine each team. This will be modified each year and will be based on the number of players from each qualifying area. QUALIFYING
One point will be awarded in each match for each hole won for the stipulated round of the match. If a match is halved (tie for total gross score for the match or hole) each team will receive a half of point. A total of 63-points are available for the Four-Ball matches; 63-points for the Foursomes matches; and a total of 252 points are available for the singles matches. The first team to score 189.5 points will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie a one-hole “putt-off” with each team member participating will be conducted on a pre-determined hole on the practice putting green. QUALIFYING The Utah Junior Golf Association will recognize the team champions following the conclusion of play. The winning team will be recognized on the ZIONS Bank Challenge Cup perpetual trophy
