Blair Earns Players Championship Honors
Zac Blair captured his second championship crown of the season by winning the Players Championship at Alpine Country Club.
Blair credited his driver with his good playing. But, his win did not come easily. He faced a formidable opponent in the form of Patrick Fishburn, who seemed determined to win the prestigious tournament on his birthday.
Blair and Fishburn tied at 37 points in the Stableford-form UJGA championship tournament, which forced the two into a sudden death play-off. They matched each other for the first two holes in the sudden death playoff before Blair won on the third hole.
Blair said what made his round most memorable was his ability to make par on the 17th hole after hitting it in the water.
