CHECKPOINT 2: (Completion of 9th Hole): If a group did not meet their CP1 time and subsequently miss their CP2 time, or a group that missed their CP1 time did not improve on their PACE OF PLAY (POP) time by a minimum of 1-minute (allocated time from CP1 to CP2 is 1 hour 15-minutes, must play in 1 hour 14-minutes) ALL MEMBERS IN THE GROUP WILL RECEIVE A 1-STROKE PENALTY; this will be identified by a DOUBLE RED CARD. ANY PLAYER who takes more than 40-seconds to play will be given a warning after the third violation; a fourth violation will result in a 1-stoke penalty; a fifth violation will result in an additional 2-stroke penalty; a sixth violation will result in the player being disqualified from the tournament. TIME ALLOCATIONS FOR THE CHECKPOINTS Any player may request an official to time his/her group if they feel there are players within the group who are violating the policy. Additionally, ANY group member can petition for their penalty/penalties to be waived, at which time there will be a review of the individual players time on each shot that was spot checked when the group was out of position (based on checkpoint times). Any shot that took longer than 40-seconds to complete will be in violation of the timing policy and the assessed penalty will stand. Additionally, if the Rules Official who had been timing the group deems that the group “did not make an honest attempt to get back into position” and meet the allocated checkpoint times the penalties will stand regardless of the player’s individual time.
